Bintan Itinerary: 2D1N, 3D2N & 4D3N Plans That Actually Work

A good Bintan itinerary is less about seeing everything and more about choosing the right part of the island for the time you have.
For a short Bintan weekend trip, staying around Lagoi keeps travel time low and gives you more time for the beach, resort activities and attractions. With three days, you can add a full-day cultural trip to Tanjungpinang and Penyengat Island. Four days gives you enough time to explore farther without turning most of your holiday into a road trip.
Bintan is larger than many first-time visitors expect, so realistic driving time should be part of your plan.
Trip Length | Best For | Suggested Area |
2D1N | First-timers, couples, quick beach escape | Lagoi |
3D2N | Beach and cultural discovery | Lagoi + South or East Bintan |
4D3N | Slower exploration | Lagoi + South or East Bintan |
Choose Your Bintan Itinerary by Travel Style
Before filling your schedule, decide what kind of trip you actually want.
If your ideal holiday means a beachfront resort, swimming, spa treatments and slow dinners, base yourself in Lagoi and avoid spending too much time travelling across the island.
Families will also find Lagoi convenient because resorts, beaches and activities are relatively easy to combine within one area.
Travellers interested in local culture, temples, markets and traditional villages should dedicate more time to southern Bintan around Tanjungpinang, Penyengat and Senggarang.
Trying to combine all of these in a 2D1N trip is where most itineraries become too rushed.
2D1N Bintan Itinerary: The Easy Weekend Escape
A 2D1N Bintan itinerary works best when you stay entirely around Lagoi.
Day 1: Arrive and Slow Down

Take a morning ferry from Singapore to Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal and continue to your resort by arranged transfer. If your room is not ready yet, leave your luggage with the hotel and start with lunch.
Spend the afternoon enjoying the resort beach or head to Treasure Bay Bintan, where you can choose from activities around the Crystal Lagoon such as paddleboarding, kayaking or other water experiences.
By late afternoon, slow the pace with a spa treatment or return to the beach for sunset. Finish your first day with dinner at your resort or a beachfront restaurant.
Day 2: One Activity Before Home

Start with an early swim and relaxed breakfast before checking out.
If your return ferry leaves later in the afternoon, choose one activity for the morning rather than trying to fit in several. Stand-up paddleboarding, an ATV or UTV experience, golf, a short spa treatment or time around Lagoi Bay can all work.
Then collect your luggage and head back to Bandar Bentan Telani with enough time for ferry check-in.
For a short trip, this slower schedule gives you more holiday and less rushing.
3 Days in Bintan: Beach Plus Culture

If you have 3 days in Bintan, keep Lagoi as your base but use your second day for a proper cultural trip.
Day 1: Resort and Lagoi
Follow the first day of the 2D1N itinerary. Arrive, check in, enjoy the beach and settle into island time instead of immediately heading across Bintan.
Day 2: Discover South Bintan
After breakfast, leave around 9:00 AM with a private driver or organised tour for a full day around southern Bintan.
Visit Vihara Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, also known as the 500 Lohan Temple, before continuing towards Tanjungpinang. From the city, take a traditional pompong boat to Penyengat Island to discover its Malay heritage, mosque and royal historical sites.
Continue to Senggarang Village, known for its Chinese heritage and temples, before enjoying local seafood or exploring Tanjungpinang.
Return to Lagoi in the late afternoon or early evening. Treat this as a full-day excursion rather than trying to add resort activities afterwards.
Day 3: Take It Slow
Keep your final morning open for breakfast, the pool, beach or one last spa treatment.
Check out and transfer to the ferry terminal according to your departure time.
This is the better option for travellers who want their Bintan weekend trip to include both relaxation and a glimpse beyond the resort area.
4D3N Bintan Itinerary: See More of the Island

With four days, there is finally enough room to explore different sides of Bintan without packing every day from morning to night.
Spend your first two days around Lagoi, combining resort time with experiences such as Sand Dunes & Blue Lake, a mangrove tour, Treasure Bay or golf.
On day three, travel farther across the island. You can dedicate the day to the cultural attractions of Tanjungpinang and Penyengat or continue towards Trikora Beach on Bintan's east coast and spend your final night there.
If you stay around Trikora, wake early on day four for a quiet morning by the east-facing coast before starting your journey back.
Keep your final-day itinerary flexible. If you have an early or midday ferry, travel directly towards the ferry terminal rather than adding another attraction. With a later departure, one additional stop may be possible depending on your route and transfer time.
Four days is where Bintan starts to feel less like a weekend break and more like a proper island holiday.
What to Do in Bintan When It Rains
Rain does not necessarily mean losing a full day. Tropical showers can change plans quickly, so keep at least one flexible activity in your itinerary.
A spa session is the easiest substitute for outdoor activities. You can also spend more time dining, visiting Plaza Lagoi or enjoying indoor facilities at your resort.
For activities such as mangrove tours or watersports, always check operating conditions with the provider, particularly during heavy rain, wind or thunderstorms.
How Much Does a Bintan Trip Cost?
Your total cost depends heavily on your resort, travel dates, ferry class, meals and activities.
Itinerary | Budget | Mid-Range | Resort |
2D1N | SGD 150 | SGD 280 | SGD 550+ |
3D2N | SGD 220 | SGD 420 | SGD 850+ |
4D3N | SGD 300 | SGD 580 | SGD 1,200+ |
These figures are rough planning estimates for ferry tickets, accommodation, meals and local transportation rather than fixed package prices. Always check current rates before booking.
